It’s almost time! Summer is just around the corner. Maybe you’re looking forward to enjoying your well-deserved vacation, or perhaps you’re still making plans. Either way, it’s nice to receive a little extra in the form of holiday pay. We pay out holiday pay at the end of May each year. But what is holiday pay exactly?
Holiday pay is an additional reward that you receive from us in late May. The amount is 8.33% of your gross annual salary, quite nice, isn’t it?
The amount of holiday pay you receive depends on what you have earned in a year. Note that certain additional income, such as bonuses or year-end allowances, do not count towards the calculation. Overtime, for example, does count.
Calculating this yourself can be quite challenging, but don’t worry. Your current holiday pay balance is always available on your payslip under “Rights” -> “Holiday Pay.”
Please note that if you have chosen to have your holiday pay paid out periodically along with your salary, you will receive it weekly, every four weeks, or monthly. In that case, you will not receive the full amount in May, as you have already received it earlier. You can also see this on your payslip.
Keep in mind that you still need to pay taxes on your holiday pay. If you would like an indication of how much holiday pay you will receive, please refer to the Nibud website.
Have a great vacation!
