Whether you want to go on a vacation for a few weeks or simply take a day off, taking vacation days allows you to be paid while being off work. At Staffice, you accumulate vacation days, and you can check your current balance on your payslip under the “Rights” section. However, please make sure that you have enough vacation hours/days before booking your vacation to ensure that your balance is sufficient. This will prevent you from not being paid for a part of the period.
Please note that when we process your leave, we will verify the number of hours you have worked in the week. For instance, if you request 2 vacation days and still work 4 days in that week, legally we can only pay or supplement up to 1 day, or a maximum of 40 hours per week. This is completely justified and ensures that vacation days are genuinely used for leisure.
Here are a few examples:
- You have worked 32 hours in a week and request 8 hours of vacation. This is possible because 32+8=40 hours.
- You have worked 16 hours in a week and request 8 hours of vacation. This is possible because 16+8=24 hours.
- You have worked 32 hours in a week and request 16 hours of vacation. This is not possible because 32+16=48 hours. We can only pay a maximum of 8 vacation hours.
- You have worked 36 hours in a week and request 8 hours of vacation. This is not possible because 36+8=44 hours. We can only pay a maximum of 4 vacation hours.
Therefore, if you have requested vacation and received fewer hours paid, it may be because you had a shortage of hours or the combination of worked hours and vacation hours exceeded 40 hours, and we have adjusted it accordingly.
